In what can be described as a resounding victory, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Seyi Makinde as the winner of the Oyo State Governorship Election.
The announcement was made following the collation and computation of votes from the various polling units across the state. According to the results announced by the electoral body, Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled an impressive total of 563,617 votes, while his closest rival, Sen. Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 251,230 votes.
The candidate of the Accord party, Adebayo Adelabu, came a distant third with 38,757 votes. The election was widely touted as a keenly contested one, with several political heavyweights jostling for the coveted seat of Governor.
However, with the support of the people of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde emerged victorious, further cementing his position as a seasoned politician and a true leader of the people.
