Odidiomo Equips Youths in Ibadan with Digital Literacy and Data Protection Skills

In today’s mobile-first world, the digital space is a central part of our daily lives. Recognizing this, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo), Member of the House of Representatives for Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency, facilitated a one-day Digital Literacy and Data Protection Training Campaign on November 18, 2024, at Felicia Hall, Jogor Centre, Ibadan.

The event, in partnership with Federal College of Horticulture Dadin-Kowa and Manban Global Concept Nig. Ltd, focused on equipping participants with essential knowledge to navigate the digital world responsibly, especially via mobile devices.

In a time where smartphones provide unlimited access to the internet, understanding digital literacy and data protection is not just important—it’s essential. The training emphasized that:

Awareness of the Digital Space: Participants must understand the activities and risks in the digital world.
Data Security Measures: Knowing how to prevent theft, hacking, and unauthorized access to personal information is critical.
Rights and Responsibilities: Every individual has rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023, including the right to access, correct, or delete their data.
