The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has submitted replacements for Governor David Umahi and his deputy, Kelechi Igwe, following their removal from office by the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

While the opposition party named Iduma Igariwey, a member of the House of Representatives as the replacement for Mr Umahi, it named Fred Udogwu to take the place of Mr Igwe.<\/p>\n

The court had earlier on Tuesday, sacked Messrs Umahi and Igwe as well as16 lawmakers in the state following their defection from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
