{"id":17197,"date":"2022-03-10T10:20:09","date_gmt":"2022-03-10T10:20:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/odidiomo.com\/news\/?p=17197"},"modified":"2022-03-10T10:20:09","modified_gmt":"2022-03-10T10:20:09","slug":"14-nigerian-athletes-head-to-alabama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/odidiomo.com\/news\/14-nigerian-athletes-head-to-alabama\/","title":{"rendered":"14 Nigerian athletes head to Alabama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2022 indoor Collegiate track and field season comes to a close this weekend with the National Collegiate Athletics Association Championship (NCAA) in Birmingham, Alabama.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 14 Nigerian athletes (7 male and 7 female ) will hit the racks for their various schools in the sprint, relays and field events.<\/p>\n<p>The meet, which spans two days, is the final collegiate indoor meet of the season and will take place March 11-12,2022 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.<\/p>\n<p>The men has Favour Ashe seeded number 3 and competing in the 60m men\u2019s dash for (Tennessee) , Alaba Akintola 200m men\u2019s dash(MTSU) , Dubem Amene 400m (Michigan), Erhire Best (MTSU) Men\u2019s High Jump<\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel Ineh (Alabama) Men\u2019s Long and Triple Jump , Isaac Odugbesan (Alabama) Men\u2019s Shot Put and Nathaniel Ezekiel (Baylor) Men\u2019s 4x400m.<\/p>\n<p>For the women, Favour Ofili ( LSU) will be quite busy herself as she has hopes of scoring in multiple events for the Tigers in the 60 meters and 200 meters; she\u2019ll also be on the 4\u00d7400 meter relay.<\/p>\n<p>Others are Rosemary Chukwuma (Texas Tech) \u2013 Women\u2019s 60m, Ruth Usoro (Texas Tech) Women\u2019s Long and Triple Jumps, Grace Anigbata (TCU) \u2013 Women\u2019s Triple Jump, Esther Isa (MTSU) Women\u2019s Triple Jump, Onaara Obamuwagun (Texas Tech) Women\u2019s Triple Jump and Imaobong Nse Uko (Baylor) Women\u2019s 4x400m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2022 indoor Collegiate track and field season comes to a close this weekend with the National Collegiate Athletics Association Championship (NCAA) in Birmingham, Alabama.
