Wife of the Oyo State governor, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde on Wednesday said welfarism of people of the state would always be the priority of the Seyi Makinde\u2019s People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP), administration in the state.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Makinde noted that their administration since inception have embarked on various projects to upgrade the living standard of the people.
\nSpeaking in Ibadan during the commissioning of borehole project in Ibadan Southeast 1 and 2, the First Lady maintained that the project would have direct impact and touched lives of the residents in the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cAccess to portable water gives birth to the project, water is life, no one can do without it, this project will bring life, reduce cost of access to portable water and serve as means of livelihood to household.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIbadan weather in the last quarter of the year is usually dry, people are confronted with problem of drought when the ground dry, this water will be useful to students, parents and petty traders in the neighborhood.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe governor has touched all aspects including construction of inter-state and city roads, upgrading of education system of the state, payment of salary, adequate security and health insurance among other.\u201d<\/p>\n
She however urged residents in the area to maintained the project, protect it, keep it, and monitored it.
\nIn his remark, the Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Hon. Daud Sangodoyin said governor Makinde is very passionate about welfare of the people and want the best for the people in the state.<\/p>\n
He described the project as part of steps to touch and make impact on people of the state so as to bring development and expansion of economy to the state.
\nHe said, \u201cOne of the focus of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) in Nigeria and around the world is provision of water, the governor is touching lives by providing borehole for the people of Ibadan southeast.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe governor have personally embarked on many projects across local government which free healthcare services is not exempted.\u201d
\nSangodoyin however said people should expect more of the projects in the expansion of economy, health, education, security and well being of the people.<\/p>\n
In his goodwill message, The chairman Pace-Setter Transport Service and the leader of the party in Ibadan South East local government, Hon. Dare Adeleke, expressed his profound gratitude to her Excellency, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde for providing water for the people of the local government as the city is getting closer to dry season period.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
