As the coast gets clearer for 2023 poll, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, \u2018Seyi Makinde has begun the refund of nomination fees to aspirants in the Primaries of the People\u2019s Democratic Party. This is a fulfilment of his promise to the aspirants.
\nThe Governor announced this during a townhall meeting he held in Oyo town, to herald his re-election campaign.
\nMost of the aspirants stood down during the last Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Oyo State.
\nGovernor Makinde had insisted that aspirants for all the Senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly positions emerge through a consensus.
\nSome aspirants that jostled for various seats in the Primaries of the party, in May were then convinced to step down, based on the consensus arrangement brokered by Governor Makinde.
\nThe party had pegged the cost of form for its Senate seat at N3.5 million, House of Representatives, N2.5 million and State House of Assembly N600,000 each.
\nGovernor Seyi Makinde and the Party during the process, had convinced some aspirants to step down.
\nIn fulfilment of his promise, the Governor called out names of aspirants and an immediate refund of their nomination form fees.
