IBADAN – Member representing Ibadan North-west\/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state at the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo), has charged newly elected local government chairmen to serve with integrity, transparency, and accountability.<\/p>\n
In a statement, by Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs to Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, the two term lawmaker congratulated the incoming chairmen, urging them to prioritize service delivery and put the people first.<\/p>\n
“As you take office, remember that the dividend of democracy is not just about political power, but about improving the lives of the people.”<\/p>\n
“Put the people first, listen to their concerns, and work tirelessly to address their needs.”<\/p>\n
He admonished the new chairmen to be responsive, inclusive, and proactive in addressing challenges facing their respective local governments.<\/p>\n
“You have a sacred responsibility to deliver quality services, promote economic growth, and ensure the well-being of the people.”<\/p>\n
“I charge you to be innovative, transparent, and accountable in your stewardship and work in harmony with the state government to achieve the desired development goals.”<\/p>\n
The newly elected chairmen, who will take the oath of office tomorrow at a swearing-in ceremony presided over by the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde, are expected to hit the ground running, tackling pressing issues such as infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and security.<\/p>\n
Hon. Olajide also commended Governor Makinde for the smooth transition process devoid of acrimony or bitterness, particularly the wisdom and exceptional leadership provided by the Governor in resolving all pre and post-election fallout before the swearing-in of the new chairmen.<\/p>\n
