Rep Adedeji Stanley Olajide commiserates with the victims of the Igangan attack

It is dejecting to hear the news of another attack on the people of Igangan in Ibarapa North local government of Oyo State.
I received this news with deep pain. Seeing our people lying in pools of blood, with houses razed is very disheartening.
My heartfelt condolences to the entire people of the community of Ibarapa North LG, the people of Ibarapa and most especially the royal father of Igangan on this horrific attack which is unfortunately not the first.
To curtail criminal activities and related issues, the State Governor H.E. Seyi Makinde recently provided the state security agencies and law enforcement officers with various security gadgets, efforts targeted at increasing security architecture and network within the state.
We should also strive to live within the boundaries of the law and traditions of our host communities. and recent resolutions are ongoing by the Southern governors’ forum. Proscribing open grazing on our lands, as an agenda is meant to avoid cultural violence or acts pointing at violation of societal norms and culture of our people.
All in all, I want to appeal to everyone to come together as a nation and to bear in mind that sovereignty of our states is sacrosanct.
We need to understand and respect the norm and culture of any community we find ourselves.
We should also strive to live in within the boundaries of the law and traditions of our host communities.
On this note, I call on all concerned to allow peace to reign. I am appealing for calm and absolute respect of the societal norms and great respect for the laws by ensuring we act in accordance with the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to ensure a peaceful nation.
Together we can build a great nation.
May the Almighty restore peace on our lands.
