N5m Cash Splash: Odidiomo Surprises Oyo Pilgrims with Showers of Goodwill

Federal lawmaker Dhikirulahi Adedeji Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidi Omo, recently embarked on the spiritual journey of Hajj in Saudi Arabia. As the representative of Ibadan Northwest/Southwest federal constituency in Oyo state, he took this opportunity to meet with Oyo pilgrims after completing all the hajj rites.

Meeting the Oyo pilgrims at Najmat Ajyad Hotel in Makkah, Odidi Omo expressed his joy in witnessing their successful completion of the Hajj activities. From entering the state of Ihram to performing Tawaf, Safa and Marwa, and participating in the spiritual activities of the Day of ‘Arafah, the pilgrims showcased tremendous endurance and steadfastness throughout their journey.

“The Hajj experience in Mecca is a leveller,” Odidi Omo stated, “as it brings together people from all walks of life. Regardless of wealth or status, everyone receives the same treatment and opportunities for spiritual growth.” He praised the Oyo pilgrims for their patience and perseverance, emphasizing that their dedication to this sacred obligation is truly inspiring.

While addressing the pilgrims, the lawmaker also urged them to avoid mixing religious matters with politics. He emphasized that being a Muslim goes beyond mere proclamation; it requires one’s actions to align with the principles of Islam. Odidi Omo acknowledged that some individuals claim to follow the faith but their actions contradict its teachings. He urged the pilgrims to remain steadfast in their faith and let their actions speak louder than words.
In his response to Odidi Omos’ generosity, the Chairman of the State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board Professor Sayed Malik showered encomiums on Honourable Olajide for giving assistance to the pilgrims.

Professor Malik attributed the present hardships being experienced by pilgrims nationwide to the inefficiency of the body saddled with the responsibility of coordinating Hajj operations in the country, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

As Odidi Omo concluded his speech, he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to connect with the Oyo pilgrims and share in their spiritual journey. He hoped that their experiences in Mecca would bring them closer to the Almighty and that their actions would serve as a testament to the glory of Allah.

The solidarity gesture between the Oyo lawmaker and the Hajj pilgrims highlights the challenges faced during this sacred journey and the unity that transcends societal divisions. By separating religious devotion from political agendas, individuals can truly embrace the essence of their faith and contribute positively to society.

The House of Representatives member promised to canvass for a reform of the Hajj operations in Nigeria through legislation with a view to ending the present hardships being suffered by Nigerian pilgrims.
