The city of Ibadan was filled with reverence and respect on Friday, April 19th, as a diverse gathering of individuals from political, traditional, and business backgrounds came together to pay tribute to the late Alhaji Abdullateef Akin-Tokunbo Olajide. The esteemed father of Hon. Dhikirullah Adedeji Stanley Olajide, fondly known as Odidiomo, was honored at his 8-day fidau prayer, following his peaceful passing on April 12th at the age of 87. The solemn event, held in accordance with Islamic rites, saw the community come together to remember and celebrate the life of a beloved patriarch.
The fidau prayer commenced at Alhaji Olajide’s Anfani residence, a moment of reflection and remembrance for family, friends, and dignitaries alike. Subsequently, a reception was hosted at the Jogor Event Centre, where the atmosphere transitioned from solemnity to a celebration of Alhaji Olajide’s life and legacy. The event was graced by a multitude of distinguished guests, including top government officials, political figures, traditional rulers, and business moguls, all gathering to honor the Olajide family and pay their respects.

Notable attendees included Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, former governor of Oyo State; Barrister Bayo Lawal, Deputy Governor of Oyo State; Balogun Bobajiro of Orile Igbon, Otunba Seye Famojuro; Alhaja Bose Adedibu; and members of the National Assembly, such as Honorable Lamiju Alao Akala, Honorable Abass Agboworin, and Honorable Shina Oyedeji.Additionally, representatives of the Speaker of the House of Representatives were present, as well as Hon. Akinremi Olaide Jagaban, Hon. Ojo Makanjuola, Hon. Olajide, Oloye Babatunde Ologburo, Boladuro, Hon. Babatunde Tijani (Double T), members of the State House of Assembly and council chairmen, Chief Adegoke, ALGON Chairman Hon Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, Benedict Akika, Royal Oladije, Alhaji Salam Azeez, Hon. Ademola Omotosho, Hon. Ige Again, Deputy Speaker Hon. Muhammed Abiodun Fadeyi, PMS Chairman, Ambassador Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa, Commissioner for Environment Hon.
