In a heartfelt display of camaraderie and respect, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, known as “Odidi Omo,” joined a group of federal lawmakers to attend the 8-day fidau prayer for their late colleague, Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, fondly called Jagaban.
Leading the delegation was former Deputy Speaker Alhaji Wase, accompanied by both former and current members of the House of Representatives. Odidi Omo, known for his close ties with his fellow legislators, described Jagaban as a cherished colleague and friend.
“Jagaban was a true public servant, dedicated to improving the lives of our constituents and the nation,” Odidi Omo shared. “His passing is a great loss, and we gather today to honor his memory and offer our condolences to his beloved wife and children.”
The 8-day fidau prayer, held at the Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, brought together a diverse group of mourners, including government officials, community leaders, and constituents.
Adding to the poignancy of the occasion, the Deputy Governor announced that the ongoing government estate in the Trans Amusement Park, Samonda, would be named after the late Jagaban, a fitting tribute to the lawmaker’s legacy.
The presence of Odidi Omo and the delegation of federal lawmakers highlighted the deep respect and camaraderie among Jagaban’s colleagues. As they gathered to bid farewell to their dear friend and fellow public servant, it was evident that Jagaban’s impact extended far beyond his own constituency, touching the lives of many across Oyo State and the nation.
