Oyo Reps Member Commended Over Solar-Power Project In Ayegbusi, Idi-Ope, Others

Residents of Imalefalafia, Ayegbusi, Idi-Ope and environs have commended the member representing Ibadan South-West/North-West federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Adedeji Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidi-Omo, for keeping to his promises during electioneering in 2019.

The people gave the commendation during Olajide’s inspection visit to the solar-powered street lights project executed in the area.

Speaking on behalf of the people, chairman of Ayegbusi/Idi-Ope community, Oluwagbenga Kunle Ajibola, said Honourable Olajide had performed wonderfully well in less than two years representing them in the National Assembly.

He thanked the lawmaker for his efforts at reducing the sufferings of his constituents, adding that everybody in the community would continue to support him.

He said, “This is a man of honour, who always keeps to his promise. We have had representatives in this constituency but Olajide is different. What they could not do for us, Honourable Olajide has done them.

“Apart from the solar-powered street lights he has just executed, he had also promised to grade some roads in our community which include Doherty Street, Olawale Street, Ajengbe Street, among others.”

The chairman further said Honourable Olajide hasdalso promised to reconstruct the collapsed bridge on Doherty Street that links Ayegbusi with Ososami road within the shortest time.

Olajide, who sunk over 15 boreholes across Ibadan South-West/North-West local government areas in 2017 before he contested the position he is occupying in 2019, has also promised to sink about 50 motorised boreholes across the 23 political wards in the constituency. .

Addressing the people, Olajide thanked them for their support since he assumed office.

He said that the solar-powered project located in strategic areas across the constituency was aimed at making the communities safer for inhabitants, adding that Ayegbusi and Idi-Ope also benefited.

Honourable Olajide told residents of the area that any of the streets that needed grading would be graded, provided the pipe-borne water would not be damaged or tampered with.

He also assured them of the reconstruction of the bridge on Doherty road which had made it impossible for motorists and other road users to link Ososami and Ayegbusi communities for a long time.

The lawmaker assured the people of more dividends of democracy, adding that what he had done in the constituency so far was a tip of the iceberg.

He said he would do everything humanly possible to complement efforts of the state government at making life more meaningful to the people of his constituency and the state as a whole.

While calling for the support of the people so as to be able to fulfill all his promises, Olajide said he had designed series of empowerment programmes for his constituents that would take care of the various segments of the society and promised never to disappoint them.
