A secondary school student, Ojo Roqeeb, reported to have assaulted a corps member in his school, has been suspended by the Oyo state government today.
The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu- Raheem who frowned at a reported case of the SSS 2 student of Anglican Commercial Secondary School, Orita-Mefa Ibadan, who slapped a corps member; ordered an immediate one-month suspension for the student.
Upon his visit to the school, Hon. Abdu-Raheem instructed the school management to write a letter of suspension informing Roqueeb’s parents of his suspension. He added that the student, on return will have to apologise to the corps member and sign an undertaking.
The commissioner therefore charged students of the school to be of good behaviour, shun insolence and rudeness, while reiterating that Oyo state government will not condone any act of indiscipline.
He sternly warned that any student caught acting in an uncivilised manner, will henceforth be dismissed from schools in Oyo State.
