The Joint Task – 10th Assembly: Odidi Omo and Fellow Reps Pledge to Work for Nigeria’s Future

Rep. Adedeji Stanley Olajide, also known as Odidi Omo who is a returning member of the 10th Assembly, expressed commitment with other reps-elect in a coalition called the Joint Task – 10th Assembly. The coalition comprises eight political parties, including the ruling party.

Christened ‘Joint Task – 10th Assembly’, the political parties involved are the APC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Social Democratic Party (SDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Young Progressive Party (YPP).

At the inauguration of the coalition in Abuja, the lawmakers expressed their commitment to promoting stability in the 10th national assembly. Their driving force is Nigeria’s unity and the stability of the House of Representatives.

The Joint Task – 10th Assembly seeks to promote the independence of the legislature, inter-dependence of the legislature and executive, legislation for good governance and grassroots impact, constituency outreach, equity, and fairness among ranking and new members, as well as ensuring unity, equity and fairness in the emergence of presiding and principal officers in line with best parliamentary practice.

Rep. Odidi Omo and his fellow reps-elect have pledged to work for the betterment of Nigeria and its citizens. They believe that they can achieve this goal by working harmoniously with the executive arm without compromising their independence.

As part of their commitment to promoting stability in the 10th national assembly, the lawmakers have resolved to support the zoning proposal of the ruling party for the office of speaker and deputy speaker. Once the zoning is done, they decide on the following line of action, guided by capacity, competence, experience, and other leadership qualities.

In conclusion, the Joint Task – 10th Assembly,  is committed to working for Nigeria’s future by promoting stability and good governance in the House of Representatives.
