Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidiomo and the APM senatorial candidate for Oyo South in 2027, attended the Second Diocesan Harvest of Thanksgiving of the Methodist Church, Diocese of Ibarapa, on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Rev. Langley Memorial Methodist Cathedral, Oke-Agogo, Igbo-Ora, where he donated ₦10 million to support the church’s development.
The service, themed “Harvest of Fruitfulness” and drawn from Genesis 1:28, provided an opportunity for Odidiomo to give thanks to Almighty God for the successful International Twins Festival held in Igbo-Ora the previous day.
During the service, he expressed gratitude to God for the successful festival and prayed for continued blessings upon Ibarapaland. He also appreciated the Methodist Church for its spiritual contribution to the community and its role in the lives of its members.
Reflecting on his personal connection with the church, Odidiomo recalled that he attended a Methodist primary school in Ibadan. His remarks highlighted his connection to the Methodist tradition and his appreciation for the church as part of his educational background.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Ibarapa, the Right Reverend Dr Sunday Johnson Funminiyi, JP, spoke about the historical significance of the Methodist Church in the region, describing it as the first church in Ibarapa.
In support of the church’s continued growth and development, Odidiomo announced a donation of ₦10 million. He encouraged the church leadership to communicate other areas where assistance might be needed, assuring them of his readiness to support the work of God. The donation was not limited in the address to a single project, leaving the church room to identify its priorities.
The congregation also offered prayers for Odidiomo and his aspiration to represent Oyo South Senatorial District in the Senate in 2027.
Speaking about development, Odidiomo emphasised the need for purposeful leadership that responds to the everyday needs of communities. He highlighted electricity, infrastructure and other essential services as important areas requiring attention to improve living conditions, support local businesses and create more opportunities for residents.
He also expressed the hope that those seeking public office within his political team would work collectively to address the development needs of the people.
Among those who accompanied him were Hon. Sola Adeleke, Director-General of the Odidiomo Campaign Organisation, and other campaign and APM leaders. The service was attended by church ministers, traditional rulers and royal fathers, community leaders and other dignitaries, including Hon. Dr Adebayo Adepoju, who represents Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency.
The thanksgiving offered Odidiomo an opportunity to express gratitude for the successful International Twins Festival, acknowledge the Methodist Church’s place in his own life and contribute to the continued development of an important religious institution in Ibarapa.
