Residents welcome the ongoing grading work after years of complaints about poor road access.
The Elebu–Akuru community is seeing a welcome change as grading work begins on a stretch of the road, following a palliative measure by Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidiomo, the APM Senatorial Candidate for Oyo South.
For years, residents have raised concerns about the condition of the road and appealed for intervention, as its poor state has made movement and transportation difficult for people living and doing business in the area.
The ongoing grading exercise is intended to provide immediate relief by improving access and making movement easier for residents, motorists and commercial transport operators who use the route daily.
The development has been warmly received by members of the community, who expressed happiness at seeing the road receive attention. Some residents said they had previously heard about Odidiomo’s activities and interventions in other communities, but were particularly pleased to now witness such an intervention in their own environment.
They welcomed the grading work, noting that improved road access would make transportation easier and reduce some of the difficulties they have experienced over the years.
The exercise is a palliative measure that addresses an immediate concern and provides some relief to a community that has consistently called for better access.
The intervention highlights the importance of listening to residents and responding to issues that directly affect their everyday lives.
As grading work continues, the community looks forward to easier movement and improved access along the Elebu–Akuru Road.
