In response to the publication making rounds the media of an INEC Unlisted House of Representative Aspirant of the SDP, Adeniyi Rotimi Johnson, who claims that Star Rep, Odidi Omo, the current serving House of Representatives member of the PDP, representing Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency, Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide, affectionately called ODIDI OMO, pleaded with him to step down in the coming elections, which are only a few days away.
We would like to state that the statement credited to him (Johnson Ojasope) is not only false but laughable and a desperate effort to gain cheap popularity at the eleventh hour. As the election is upon us, coupled with the unrest plaguing our beloved country, Nigeria, it is understandable to be frustrated and confused; nevertheless, this should not lead to someone fabricating lies to incite further agitation. It is, however, condescending at this time to disrupt or disorganize the good-thinking people of the Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency, who are more than ready to not only re-elect their loyal, selfless, and functioning representative, Odidi Omo but also vote for all PDP candidates at the polls with your cheap lies.
Your media team should channel their energy and expertise into putting your image out in a better way to be listed next time by INEC rather than coming up with clout-chasing tactics and cheap, irrelevant ideas, that result in propaganda. It is obvious that you are not popular, even in the corridors of Odidi Omo’s opponents, who can’t even meet up with his achievements in the last four years. We are using this medium to advise you to work more on your PR so that when you get listed next time, people will at least know who you are.
In his words, Odidiomo said, “I have God and the good people of my constituency.” I have gotten the go-ahead from God Almighty and will continue to bring the dividends of democracy to my people in Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Constituency. They know how well I have served them, and for that, they are entrusting me to represent them again for another four years.
It is only heartbreaking that despite my achievements in the Education sector, Health sector, Infrastructure, Community Development, ICT, and Several Empowerments with beneficiaries rounding up 400 thousand of people, someone because of bad blood or dirty politics would say I, Odidiomo, asked him to step down for me, please, how do I ask someone who is not listed to step down?. I am more focused on making the lives of my constituents better than wasting my energy on someone who has nothing to lose.” So, If Mr. Ojasope is putting his words out the way he did, it’s obvious that he is only looking for cheap relevance and indirectly passing a message.
I hereby appeal to the good people of my Constituency to ignore such malicious lies, and evil thoughts, stay off violence and focus strictly on chasing out this hardship melted upon us by the opposition by voting for all PDP Candidates in the coming elections.”
Signed
