Odidi-Omo Engages Electronics Dealers at Iwo Road, Promises Infrastructure Support and ₦5 Million Assistance

Ibadan, Oyo State — The Association of Electronics Dealers at Iwo Road Market, Ibadan North, received Rt. Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide (Odidi-Omo) during a community engagement focused on the concerns, needs and development priorities of market stakeholders.

The engagement provided an opportunity for the electronics dealers to present some of the challenges affecting their businesses and the wider market environment. Among the key requests raised were the provision of solar street lights and a borehole to improve infrastructure and conditions within the market.

Responding to the concerns, Odidi-Omo spoke about his vision for improved lighting infrastructure across the Oyo South Senatorial District, where he is the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the 2027 senatorial election. His campaign website confirms his emergence as the party’s candidate following its nomination and affirmation process in 2026.

9,000 Solar Street Lights Proposed Across Oyo South

A major part of the discussion centred on street lighting.

Odidi-Omo stated that his vision is for communities across the senatorial district to have significantly improved lighting infrastructure. He proposed the delivery of 9,000 solar street lights across the district, with approximately 100 lights allocated to each ward.

The proposed intervention is presented as part of a broader infrastructure agenda focused on improving public spaces and supporting communities.

Borehole Support for Iwo Road Market

The electronics dealers also requested access to a borehole as part of efforts to address their water needs.

In response, Odidi-Omo assured the association that work on the requested borehole would commence the following day.

The commitment places water access alongside lighting as two immediate infrastructure issues raised during the engagement.

₦5 Million Support for the Association

Beyond the infrastructure requests, Odidi-Omo also announced ₦5 million in support for the association, describing the intervention as part of his commitment to the growth and wellbeing of the electronics dealers.

The support comes against the background of his stated emphasis on economic empowerment and practical interventions for communities and businesses. His campaign platform identifies economic growth, empowerment and infrastructure development among its areas of focus.

Listening to Stakeholders

The Iwo Road engagement reflects the role of direct stakeholder interaction in understanding community-level needs.

For market associations such as the electronics dealers, issues such as lighting, water supply and business support can have a direct bearing on the environment in which traders operate.

Odidi-Omo’s broader public-service profile places emphasis on community engagement, infrastructure, economic inclusion and empowerment. His campaign platform also identifies these areas among its stated priorities for Oyo South.

The engagement at Iwo Road therefore combined discussions around immediate market needs with wider proposals for infrastructure development across the senatorial district.

The conversation at Iwo Road was ultimately centred on a simple principle: listen to the people, understand their needs and respond with practical interventions.
