In anticipation of the upcoming Local Government Chairman and councillorship elections scheduled for Saturday, April 27th, 2024, Representative Adedeji Olajide, also known as Odidi Omo, convened an indoor meeting with the two local government chairmen, their vice-chairmen, and all 23 ward councillorship aspirants from the IBNW/IBSW Federal Constituency.
During this meeting, crucial matters were discussed. The aspirants were able to highlight the various challenges and setbacks they encountered in the course of their campaign, to which possible solutions were immediately proffered by Odidi Omo and the party chairmen in attendance.
Various critical issues concerning the Saturday elections were deliberated upon to ensure a safe, smooth, and peaceful electoral process. Attendees included party chairmen from the IBNW/SW Constituency and all aspirants participating in the forthcoming election. The aim was to meticulously assess preparations and leave no room for oversight, thereby bolstering confidence in the aspirants’ ability to secure victory come Saturday.
As a demonstration of support and encouragement, each chairman and vice-chairmanship aspirant received financial assistance of one million naira, while each of the 23 ward councillors in IBNW/SW was mobilized with one hundred thousand naira for logistics and miscellaneous expenses, ensuring they are adequately prepared for the upcoming elections.
Furthermore, Rep. Adedeji Olajide assured all attendees of enhanced security measures. He pledged to engage with security chiefs to ensure robust security arrangements for the elections, recognizing the commendable efforts of His Excellency and the state’s leadership in maintaining security across Oyo State.
In his closing remarks, Rep. Adedeji Olajide reiterated the importance of community engagement and called on candidates to uphold the democratic principles that underpin our society.
