On Monday, July 14, 2025, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, presented 14 brand-new 10th Generation laptops to the constituency office of Rep. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide (OdidiOmo) for distribution to secondary schools within the Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency.
The handover ceremony, held at the University campus, was attended by the Vice Chancellor, his three Deputy Vice Chancellors, and other top members of the university’s management team.
Prof. Adebowale praised Rep. Olajide for his visible developmental efforts and consistent commitment to uplifting the lives of the people through education and digital empowerment. He described the laptop initiative as a commendable gesture that directly responds to the current economic realities and technological needs of public secondary schools.
Receiving the laptops on behalf of the lawmaker, Alhaji Suleiman Abdul Razzaq Ayinde, Constituency Manager and Project Coordinator, expressed gratitude to the University leadership. He reaffirmed that the laptops would be promptly delivered to selected schools across the constituency to support digital learning.
Rep. Olajide, who chairs the House Committee on Digital, ICT, and Cybersecurity, continues to champion policies and projects that close the digital gap and create meaningful access to technology for young Nigerians.
The distribution of these laptops underscores his long-standing belief that digital literacy is no longer a luxury, but a necessity for future-ready students—regardless of background or location.
