Nigeria is actively engaging with continental partners at the Third African Forum on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence, currently taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 25–27 November 2025. The high-profile forum brings together African governments, lawmakers, cybersecurity agencies, and international institutions to strengthen regional cooperation on combating cybercrime.
Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide (Odidi Omo) attended the forum alongside other members of the House Committee on ICT & Cybersecurity, representing Nigeria’s legislative interest in strengthening digital security, cybercrime legislation, and electronic evidence standards across Africa.
Supported by the European Union (EU) and the Council of Europe (CoE), the forum focuses on:
- Improving cybercrime investigation capabilities
- Aligning national cyber laws with global best practices
- Enhancing electronic evidence handling
- Combating digital financial crime
- Strengthening cross-border cooperation
- Building institutional capacity across African states
Nigeria’s presence — including the participation of Odidi Omo and several committee members — underscores the country’s commitment to modernising its cybersecurity frameworks and taking an active role in continental digital safety initiatives.
The Nigerian delegation joined counterparts from across the continent as discussions began on strengthening policies, sharing intelligence, and building more resilient cyber ecosystems for Africa’s growing digital economies.
