It was learnt that the accident occurred when the ECOWAS Special Envoy was on his way from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to his residence in Abuja. Meanwhile, It was stated that two persons are feared to have died in the accident, but the identities of the deceased remain undetermined. According to sources in Jonathan’s camp, the former president was still in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital, as of Wednesday morning. He was said to have travelled to Abuja for an official assignment. FRSC confirms accident, gives update Leadership in an updated report said the FRSC confirmed the death of two persons in the accident. FRSC spokesperson, Bisi Kazeem, reportedly said two other aides were also hospitalised at the National hospital in Abuja after they sustained various degrees of injury. The FRSC also said the former president was not injured as the car he was in was not part of the ones that crashed. It was gathered that Jonathan was later spotted at the National Hospital after the incident where he went to ensure proper care for both the dead and the injured aides.
