A historic moment unfolded yesterday in Ibadan, as the Convention emerged as a unifying force for the party and marked the rebirth of a revitalized National PDP committed to restoring our nation.
As this showcased a party operating with discipline, structure, and renewed direction — the kind of internal order many political watchers have been waiting to see. These are the views of Hon. Adedeji Olajide, member representing Ibadan North-West and Southwest Federal Constituency.
Odidi Omo, was the Secretary of the Venue & Logistics Subcommittee, chaired by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Bayo Lawal. This made him directly responsible for preparing and coordinating the environment for the thousands of delegates and dignitaries who converged on Ibadan.
His role placed him inside the engine room of the convention — planning, inspections, logistics alignment, and execution.
He praised Governor Seyi Makinde for providing the stabilising leadership and executive support that ensured Oyo State delivered a safe, secure, and organisation-driven convention. Makinde’s influence, described as calm, strategic, and unifying, set the tone for the entire event.
He also commended Deputy Governor Barr. Bayo Lawal whose leadership of the Venue & Logistics Subcommittee ensured that accreditation, movement, security, welfare, technical setups, and programme flow all ran smoothly.
Odidi Omo said the atmosphere at the convention reflected a PDP that is better organised, better coordinated, and better prepared for the political journey ahead.
“What we witnessed in Ibadan was focus, discipline, and a shared commitment to moving the party forward.
Everyone played their part — and it showed.”
Political analysts echo this sentiment, noting that the successful convention signals a PDP gathering momentum and demonstrating the capacity to engage the coming elections with clarity and confidence.
