On June 16, 2025, Rep. Adedeji Stanley Olajide (Odidiomo) participated in a high-level Legislative Dialogue on Nigeria’s National Security Architecture, held at the National Counter Terrorism Centre in Abuja. The event, hosted by the House of Representatives Constitution Review Committee in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser, convened top security leaders and lawmakers to tackle urgent reforms in Nigeria’s security framework.
Rep. Adedeji Stanley Olajide, Chairman of the House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity, participated in the National Legislative Dialogue as a member of the Constitution Review Committee. With his dual focus on constitutional reform and digital security, Hon. Olajide brought a unique perspective to the table — emphasizing the need to future-proof Nigeria’s security architecture.
As an active member of the Constitution Review Committee, Rep. Adedeji contributed to critical conversations around House Bill 617, a proposed legislation seeking to establish state police and restructure the country’s law enforcement system for greater efficiency, accountability, and responsiveness.
The dialogue addressed complex threats — from terrorism to armed banditry and separatist agitations — with lawmakers and security chiefs working together to outline actionable paths for reform.
Speaking on the sidelines of the session, Rep. Adedeji emphasized the need for constitutional clarity in how security responsibilities are shared across levels of government.
“We can’t talk about peace and progress without a structure that empowers communities, supports law enforcement, and ensures safety for every Nigerian. This dialogue moves us closer to that goal,” he noted.
Rep. Adedeji’s participation reflects his continued drive to advance legislative solutions that strengthen national security while upholding democratic values and citizen protection.
